  Self Assessment Tool For Lean Manufacturing Certification

There are three levels for participants for the Lean Manufacturing Certification process.
This page has the purpose of helping prospective participants define at which level they should consider themselves to be a part in this event.

The total extension of the Certification Process is 40 hours of classroom activity. These are at 4 hour sessions one each week. This makes a total of 10 weeks for the 40 hours.

Between classes All the participants Must have direct action on Process Improvement Opportunities.

These three levels will be defined as:

Professionals

Practitioners

Beginners

People who already do Lean Manufacturing Implementation for a living. They are in charge or are a recognized part of the Continuous Improvement efforts in their plants, shops, or offices. They frequently educate and train people to help the Continuous Improvement process. They have been practicing these Strategies for some time and have Measurable Success Stories to share in printed Case Studies with the Certification Group. They can tell where and when there is an opportunity for improvement and are capable of defining the tools to be utilized in order to achieve that improvement. They have measured the positive results in terms of Money. This Money Measure is critical in order to obtain the financial support required for their future improvement projects.
Will participate in the Classroom activities for a total of 24 hours, where they will show and share their Training Skills. A Plant Director will sign Their Score Cards

People who have some level of knowledge and have participated at least in three Continuous Improvement Projects that have been considered Successful in terms of Money.
These practitioners want to acquire, in a short period of time, a higher level of knowledge, experience and responsibility. They are willing to embark into a special effort to intensify their participation in these processes and the responsibility implied. They understand the need to cultivate a Leadership Environment where they will be supporting the people who will come to work in their Kaizen Events. They have a good level of Communication and Motivation skills. They know very well a few of the Lean Manufacturing Strategies and are aware of others even if have not yet put them into practice. They will participate in Classroom activities for 32 hours, and Must practice at least for 160 hours. A Manager of their workplace will sign their Score Cards.

People from different responsibilities who want to get involved into Lean Manufacturing. They Must have read at least one book and might have probably read more books, news, and articles in all kinds of publications but have not been involved into the direct implementation process yet.
They Must have a work position where they will be able to immediately put into practice what they learn in the Training Process. Also it is critical that they can Write, Read, and clearly Understand directions in English.
Beginners will have a total of 40 hours of Classroom and need to practice at least 160 hours with Measurable Results by the end of the 10 weeks Certification Process.

Each of these participants must have a Leader at their workplace who will give them the support and sign their Score Card to verify their advancements.
