When we started planning our First TPM Event for India, there was the concern of the misinterpretation that also happens in America and everywhere.

Most of the time when we hear "Total Productive Maintenance" many people may think it only relates to the area of Industrial Maintenance.

TPM is in reality a Management Issue. We have seen TPM be a big success only where the Management Team was involved and Committed in its implementation from the beginning.

It takes some time and knowledge to discover that this valuable Strategy of the Toyota Production System is actually refered to the shared responsibility of preserving (Maintaining) and Optimizing the Productivity in our equipment. Since everybody benefits from this task, we all must be involved into promoting, supporting and performing the best possible in that direction.

The successful TPM Implementation will then take place and the results will show benefits for everyone, beginning with Job Security, so fragile in these days of uncertainty and weak economy.
